Lawn Mowing & Edging

A manicured lawn is the heart of most landscape designs. Proper mowing and edging, when performed by professionals using well-maintained equipment, can make your lawn the centerpiece of your landscape.

Fertilization

Even the healthiest lawns, trees, and shrubs benefit from proper fertilization programs. Our suppliers keep us informed of the latest and the best materials available so we can offer the consumer a variety of choices. Code Green can even apply organic fertilizers where needed.

Clean-Ups

When a property has not been maintained, clean-ups offer an option for returning your landscape to a manageable level. An initial edging, mowing, weeding, pruning, and trimming can dramatically and quickly restore your property to a point where a maintenance program can be initiated. Save time and energy by letting us begin the process of enhancing the beauty and value of your property.

Pruning

Proper tree pruning and hedge trimming is essential not only for the appearance of your landscape but for the health of your trees and shrubs.

Beauty Bark

To enhance the appearance of your beds, Code Green can apply many different types of mulch. Whether it is cedar bark chips (in varying sizes) or organic compost, you can add natural beauty along with a tough weed barrier.

Color Displays

Take the guesswork and worry out of planting annuals in your flowerbeds by scheduling seasonal color changes. By planting the right plant, in the right spot, at the right time, you can add year-round beauty to your home or commercial property. From a one-time color display for a special occasion to a year-round color plan, Code Green offers high-quality nursery stock, installed professionally, adding a distinctive finishing touch to your landscape. In addition to colorful plants, your garden area might benefit from beauty bark or one of many types of decorative rock.

Aerating

Aerating is the process of removing plugs of grass and soil from the lawn to allow water, oxygen, fertilizers, and other nutrients to penetrate the soil and better reach the roots of your grass. This process can also help break up thatch in your yard.

Thatch Removal

When aerating is not enough or the layer of thatch build-up is too great, mechanical thatch removal (power raking) may be the answer. This process removes the layer of grass stems, roots, clippings, and debris that settle on the ground and accumulate over time. Thatch removal, like aerating, allows water and other nutrients to better reach your lawn’s root system.

Overseeding

The best defense against lawn weeds is a thick, dense growth of healthy grass. Add to the appearance of your lawn or create a new one with overseeding. Code Green selects quality seed for use in the Pacific Northwest that will boost the health of your existing lawn or create a brand new one that your neighbors will envy.

Topdressing

A healthy and natural way to feed you lawn, topdressings of organic compost can aid in fertilizing and add to existing topsoil. To increase germination of new grass seed after an overseeding, have Code Green apply an organic compost to help keep moisture in and the sun out until seeds have begun their new life, adding fullness to your existing or new lawn.

Weed Control

Whether in your planting areas or in undeveloped areas of your property, we can control unwanted plants and noxious weeds.

Crane Fly Control

One of the regions worst lawn insect pests, crane fly larvae can destroy all or portions of your lawn in a very short time. One or two applications of turf insecticide will help control lawn damage. Insecticide is typically applied in the fall and again in the spring. Diazanon™ and Dursban™ can help eliminate the crane fly larvae and the damage they cause.

pH and Soil Sampling

If problems persist, we offer diagnostic services to determine what problems exist and how to best combat them.

Fall Leaf Removal

Leaf accumulation on lawns can cause damage from lack of sunlight, water accumulation, and spread of disease. We recommend that leaves be removed from lawns to avoid these potential problems.

Pressure Washing

Our climate can dull the appearance of concrete and brick. Walkways in shady areas where slimes and moss exist are not only unsightly but a slip hazard. Code Green can renew the appearance of concrete and brick, bringing back more of the original look while increasing the safety around your home or business.
